Good ol' Anthony Brown - he's the man who wrote the books about Willy the gorilla, isn't he? Isn't that a lovely surprise to find a children's book that is so positive about Mums? Makes me think he may have had a good relationship with his Mum.Speaking of which - I've just had a fabulous day in the city collecting wonderful evangelistic books & tracts for a resource table at our Mother's Day Services this Sunday. Lesley Ramsay has written 2 fabulous small evangelistic books, for women, which sell for less than $5 - one uses the theme of food, the other has the title "He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not" & goes right through Luke's gospel, with commentary. MB is preaching at all 3 services on "Who Cares for Carers?". Please pray we connect with many women, including the unsaved or unsure women in the congregation.Happy Mother's Day to you!!!!!!Titus 2:3-5Love,AB
Will do! Pray, that is.
Have you read any others of his? Two that I can think of ("Zoo" and "Piggybook") have interesting things to say about mums too. It's a bit hard to explain, I guess you could say he's empathetic toward mums. They are both about families where the mum is weary of being downtrodden by the dad (and also by the two boys in "Piggybook"). I'm not doing a very good job of explaining them here, but if you can get your hands on them have a look! Anthony Browne seems to me to be a very interesting person.
We have really enjoyed this book and had a good laugh while reading it!Julie
